Portfolio - Stone to Steel
Stone to Steel is a project ran by the Steel Valley Project to promote the Upper Don Valley area to walkers and tourists. The project will run over five years and is funded through a number of organizations.
We were approached towards the start of the project with the requirements to build a website which would give them initial presence but would easily expandable once the project was going and resources had been prepared. By breaking the site down into different sections and creating a flexible menu system we created a site which can grow as the project develops and new materials and resources are created. We believe all sites should be created like this and a full site rebuild is only necessary in extreme situations.
Special requirements included a map to allow users to locate areas for walking and for historic sites, a CMS based news, events and links/supporters section and an RSS feed to keep people up-to-date with changes and additions to the site as the project progresses.
